With so many people applying for the Chase Ink Bold and Chase Ink Plus (thanks to the limited-time increased offer), I thought it would be good to look ahead and bring out some key points regarding Chase Ink retention offers.

St. George Marathon Lottery Results!

I have written many times about the St. George Marathon and what a great experience it was! It was an incredibly well-run event that totally exceeded my expectations. I highly encourage all marathoners to take a stab at running it! They do use a lottery system, however. I wrote about when the lottery was going to open and when the lottery was going to close. Well, the results are in and will be…

National Car Rental Elite Status – Why And How

hen it comes to achieving elite status, most people think of airlines. After that comes hotels. When it comes to rental cars, most people really never think about that offering much or being something they would have a desire to hold. The truth is that the right status with the right company can give you some pretty significant savings, even over opaque agencies like Priceline and Hotwire. Here is some information about National Car rental elite status, why you want it, and how you can get it.

Barclay Rebrands Arrival Cards And Adds Features

The Barclay Arrival card is one of the best travel cards and I have spoken before how it is really the best card for domestic travel for sure (now that the Southwest cards are back down to 25,000 points). There are actually two different Arrival cards and the only way they have been differentiated before was by the type of point earning they had – 1x or 2x. Certainly, for the first year anyway, the 2x version is much better. The bonus is better (40,000 instead of 20,000) and the earning is better (2 miles per dollar instead of 1 mile per dollar). But…

Current IHG 80K Card Option

Back in January, I wrote about the awesome 80K credit card bonus offer for IHG hotels. It had been around for a while and I had mentioned it before, but I really wanted people to be prepared for the IHG Point Break hotel lists that come out every couple of months (Point Break hotels are specially selected IHG properties that go for 5,000 points per night for a set span of time. Unfortunately…

Earn Your Own Referral From Chase!

It is a known fact that credit card companies offer referrals to people that refer others to their products. The referrals kick in when the applicant is approved for a card product. Those referrals are normally given in the form of a cash payment. When it comes to Chase, only the bigger sites/blogs have been able to hold onto a variety of Chase products so not everyone can get a cash referral for referring their friends.

One Year Anniversary For Barclay Arrival – Should You Keep It?

A little over a year ago, Barclay really changed the way many people approached travel awards. That is thanks to the Barclaycard Arrival cards. The Barclaycary Arrival Plus Elite (as it is now named) gives 2 miles on every dollar spent. These miles can be redeemed on a host of travel categories as a statement rebate after the purchase. This way, you are not tied to a specific airline or hotel. The sign-up bonus was a not a bad thing either – 40,000 miles after meeting the minimum spend (worth $400 towards travel).

GREAT Deal on Garmin Forerunner 910XT

I have written before about how the Garmin Forerunner 910XT was my favorite. It is a tremendous watch that is comfortable to wear, multi-sport, and incredible battery life. This offer is the best offer I have seen on this fantastic watch! That was my all-time favorite Garmin but had sold it to try out the new generation of Garmin watches – the Garmin Forerunner 620. Still, in many ways I miss my 910XT. The battery life especially was impressive and…

Pick Up 2,000 AA and US Air Miles

Dining programs are a great way to earn miles! All you need to do is sign-up for a program and link your credit card. When you use that credit card at a restaurant that is with the dining program, you will receive miles or points for that charge. American Airlines and US Airways have a promotion going on where you can earn 2,000 miles in each program for simply signing up and dining (you will need to complete your profile/survey after).  This is a great way to earn some miles in a big way!

What Did You Run Today?

We are heading into the summer race season. There are a lot of local races that take place throughout the summer and then, of course, we head into the half-marathon/marathon season in the fall. Because of that, many people have turned Saturdays into their “long” run days or race days. The long run can vary for each person depending on the distance they are training for. For me, I am…
