Amazon Prime Day is coming in just a few days but that doesn’t mean you cannot get a jump start on some deals. Here is one deal that I thought good enough to do a post on early. It is for the Amazon Echo Buds and Prime members get $40 off.

The first edition Amazon Echo Buds were pretty good. I tried them out on an airplane and the advertised noise reduction technology. This wasn’t full scale noise cancellation but it did a passable job of reducing the amount of noise. I wasn’t a huge fan of the fit since they felt a little slick and kept feeling like I had to jam them in to make sure they didn’t fall out.
Enter Amazon Echo Buds 2nd generation. These are just about a month old and already there is a really good sale on them. This is what the new Amazon Echo buds bring to the table:
- Dynamic audio and active noise cancellation (ANC) – Premium speakers deliver crisp, balanced sound. Sealed in-ear design and ANC limit background noise.
- Compact and comfortable – Echo Buds are small, light, and sweat-resistant, with a secure, customizable fit that’s made to move with you.
- Hands-free entertainment – Echo Buds work with the Alexa app to stream music, play podcasts, and read Audible audiobooks—just ask.
- Long-lasting battery – Get up to 5 hrs music playback per charge and up to 15 hrs with the charging case. A 15-min quick charge provides up to 2 hrs of music.
- Leave your phone in your pocket – Use your voice to make calls, set reminders, add items to your shopping list, or even start a meditation session.
- Works with other assistants – Compatible with iOS and Android, and supports access to Siri and Google Assistant.
- Designed to protect your privacy – Amazon is not in the business of selling your personal information to others. Echo Buds are built with multiple layers of privacy controls, including the ability to mute the mics with the Alexa app
You can also choose to have the wireless charging case – this will bump the price up $20.
One of the other things they changed was the case. This basically changed the direction of the lid from opening from the horizontal position to vertical. Truth be told, I liked the first edition case quite a bit. It was very sleek and smooth and fit anywhere and had the full opening lid. Still, I am sure the new one is pretty good as well.
If you are an Amazon Prime Member, you can get these for $79! Not a bad deal at all for earbuds with active noise cancelation!
