Buying Flowers for Valentine’s Day? Don’t Forget the Points!!!

Written by Charlie

Two days from now is the biggest flower day of the year – Valentine’s Day. You know you can be a sweetheart AND earn mega points at the same time?

If you have not purchased flowers yet and would be interested in getting them online, don’t forget to use shopping portals for points! Flower purchases from some of the big name vendors are the richest in points – up to 20 and 30 points per dollar spent! FTD is the biggest point pusher with Pro Flowers and 1-800-FLOWERS up there as well.and all the airline portals are offering deals. To find the best deal, go to your favorite travel shopping portal and follow the links from there to purchase your flowers for Valentine’s Day.

It appears that American Airlines and United (30 points per dollar) and JetBlue (20 points per dollar) have the best deals on the points with FTD. Ultimate Rewards is sitting at 15 and Delta is at 6 points. In my opinion, to go with JetBlue points would make this the most valuable proposition (depending on your point totals). Because JetBlue’s rewards program is revenue based instead of zone based, you can get a flight with as little ast 5,000 points. So, if you were inclined to spend $250 on flowers, chocolate, jewelry, stuffed animals, etc, you could get a one-way ticket to various cities with JetBlue (however, it being Valentine’s Day, you may be better off trying to get enough for two one-way tickets 🙂 )

Anyway, I wanted to get this up quickly before everyone finished their Valentine’s shopping. There are many different shopping portals that will reward you for rewarding your sweetheart this week, so make sure you go through them to earn what you can!
