Welcome to this week’s summary! This was week 1 of 2 of being featured on the BoardingArea home page. If you come directly to my site without going through the BA page then nothing has changed. 🙂 If you do visit from the BA homepage, then you would have noticed my posts staying at the top a little longer than normal. If some of you are new readers – welcome! Good to have you along for the ride.

While not about to dethrone the Chase Ink cards for business purchases, it is really nice to see Chase stepping up the game by offering these bonus categories on other cards as well.
Blog Milestone Giveaway: Upgrade Certificates, Amazon Gifts Cards, iTunes Gift Cards, & Club Passes!
Expired – On Monday, I hit the milestone of 2,000 blog posts here in the last 3.5 years. To celebrate, I had a little giveaway. Thanks to all of you who took the time and also for saying some encouraging things. Always helps to keep me going!
Great IHG Fall Promotion For New Customers – 2 Free Nights For Them And At Least 50,000 Points For Current Customers
IHG rolled out their new fall promotion and it is pretty good for new customers! Check down a little further for another post on how you can take advantage of this promo and get some very cheap top tier rooms.
This fare sale from Southwest is not the best ever, but it does offer some pretty good fares that are valid for flights 6 months from now! If you had booked trips that far out, it will pay to check on them to see if the prices have dropped.
We all travel for different reasons and while this is not normally why I travel, this is the story of why I traveled to a different country to run on a treadmill. 🙂
If you have travel planned to the Caribbean/Latin America, it will be worth your while to check and see if these hotels and the 50% off reward sale works for you. There are some pretty great values to be had!
Earning miles is only part of the fun – the real fun comes when you start to burn them and see the value add up! I have burned a lot of miles in my life but these might just be the most comfortable miles I have ever burned.
Expired – If you like Amazon Prime, these Fire Phone deals are the best way to get a deal on it since they come with a year’s worth of Prime and you can normally flip the phone at a good price. While this deal is expired, expect to see some even lower ones as it was learned this week that Amazon will not be making another Fire phone. With a name like “Fire” Phone, this is just too easy – get ready for a fire sale! 🙂
If you have travel planned for Europe or if you still have Aegean elite status, this sale should be of great interest to you. It is a nice opportunity to bounce around Europe at a good price on a great regional airline. Plus, you can burn some of your upgrade certificates in the process (Aegean Gold members). Upgrading a $30 flight to business class – how cool is that?
Expired – this was a great deal and ended up being available from places all over the US to Dublin and more in Europe (although at a higher price). While using miles is nice, being able to get cash tickets like this is really nice too.
Priceline’s name your own price model seemed to be much more popular in the past than it is now. However, it can still provide some great deals – even trumping elite and coupon discounts!
If you look at a worldwide map of flight paths, the route from Australia to South America is a very desolate one. But, it can be very useful in your travels! Here is a guide on how to find and book flights that exist on these routes.
This offer expires this month if you are interested! This post looks at what you will gain and what you may lose by applying for this offer right now. Points are good, but this offer stripped this popular card of 2 important things in previous offers.
The Citi Premier card has some great benefits – not the least of which is the sign-up bonus. And that sign-up bonus went up by 20% this week to a big 60,000 point deal. That translates to a lot of points in various transfer partners or $750 in travel value.
If you entered the giveaway this week, please check this to see if your name is listed! If it is, please a comment or e-mail me because I am still waiting to hear back from a couple of people so I can get everyone else’s their prizes. Move quickly if you want choice!
If you are a new IHG customer, you are going to want to check out this post to see how you can get 1 night at any IHG hotel for about the price of 1 night at a 3.5 star hotel!
Apparently, Citi was not going to leave the link up for the 60,000 point offer and they removed it. However, the link direct to the application is still alive and kicking so check it out if you want this nice boost in points.
It is always nice to get a deal and get miles! Depending on what travel accessories you are shopping for, this deal trifecta at eBags may just be what you are looking for – miles, discounts, and a great item.
If you want your 20,000 Starpoints to turn into 30,000 AA miles (and more if transferred in blocks of 20K), then your time is just about up! Transfer now before it is too late, but make sure you have a use for them.
Hotwire is still a great price to snag a cheap hotel room and this additional discount makes the deal even sweeter.
Whether you are running or traveling, it is important to stay hydrated. This post looks at two products for that that I use daily and absolutely love. If you are looking for some good gear, this post will tell you what hydration gear I like!
