Southwest launched a great sale the other day with tickets starting as lows as $49 for most shorter routes and going up to $149 each way.
The Great Southwest Sale Extended
While Southwest has a lot of sales, the $49 sale only comes around every so often so this is a great time to grab your tickets. It is also a great time to check your current reservations to see if this sale yields a lower price. You can cancel cash or point tickets for free and rebook at no cost, so definitely check your reservations.
Apparently, according to Southwest, this sale was so big that their servers were unable to keep up so they have been having problems with their website. As a result, they are extending the sale a full 24 hours – instead of ending tonight, it now ends tomorrow, June 5, at 11:59PM. This gives you that extra boost to make sure you have the time to book your tickets. Remember – you can always cancel the tickets later. If it is a points booking, you will get the points back for free. If if is a cash booking, you will get a credit back for future purchases.
Make sure you check your other airline choices as well since other airlines have jumped in with sale prices as well so you may be able to find your preferred airline having the same price.
