Weekly Summary

Sunday Summary

Welcome back to our Sunday Summary Series where we review the posts that were covered throughout the past week.

The last two weeks have been two of my slowest (posting) weeks in the last several months. I had a lot going on, plus a bit of travel that took more of my posting time than I would have liked. But, back to it this week! Thanks for reading along and hope you have been able to pick up something this week!

When No News Is NOT Good News

There are times when it comes to travel that no news is certainly not good news. I had one of those classic experiences this past week on my way home. Hey, just a little update would be great! 🙂

Why I Turned Down A $1,200 Voucher

A $1,200 flight voucher is a lot of money! It can be used to accrue a lot of miles (in fact, I could have picked up 44,000 miles with that money all in one trip!), but I turned down that offer. In fact, it didn’t even really take me long to decide that. Find out why.

The Road To Easy Star Alliance Gold Is Closing

Aegean Airlines has been the door to easy Star Alliance Gold for the last few years. It has been a great way to get priority treatment when flying Star Alliance airlines and access to airline lounges around the world. But, that door to the easy status is closing this November.

Do Not Buy Southwest Points Unless…

Southwest is running a limited-time offer on the purchase of their points. However, that does not mean that you should take them up on it! In fact, there is really only one reason that you should be buying Southwest points – now or ever.

Everyone likes to be able to earn a referral bonus! Well, Chase is giving you that opportunity with their Chase Sapphire Preferred. For every successful referral that you make, you can receive 5,000 Ultimate Reward points. Not a bad deal! Points for your family and friends and points for you!

Taking Another Look At The New Miles + Bonus Program

With the upcoming changes of the Aegean Airlines program for their frequent flyers, it is worth looking at what the elite passengers will be gaining and losing. It turns out – Aegean is giving quite a few benefits in exchange for taking away the ability to hold Star Alliance Gold status for a really long time.

The Race To Follow Tomorrow

The Berlin Marathon was this morning and it was certainly the race to follow! World records at that distance have been set more on that course than any other. This morning was no different!

  • The Chase Sapphire Preferred looks great. However, I am not sure about getting the signup bonus again. I closed my Sapphire Preferred (Visa) card in March 2013. I was in my area Chase bank yesterday and a zealous Chase rep approached me to tell me about my “special” offers. One was the Sapphire Preferred. The rep said I could get the Sapphire Preferred again and get the bonus again. So….When can I apply and get the 40,000 points signup bonus again? Please help.
