Welcome back to our Sunday Summary Series where we review the stories that were covered throughout the week.
I got to run my first international half-marathon a couple of weeks ago and it was a great race! Running a PR doesn’t hurt either ;). This was a very nice race and it was definitely something that I would make a priority if you are going to be in the area of Greece around that time!
The Southwest 50K credit card bonus is probably one of the best travel credit cards and is definitely a top choice for domestic flyers that have an airport served by Southwest. This card was due to expire with the big bonus on October 31 (but it still appears to be available).
Many people were and are buying new iPads. This post gives some of the best ways to purchase them and earn the most points in the process.
The IHG Points Break list is the best deal in hotel points. There are hundreds of hotels that you can stay at within this timeframe for only 5,000 points per night! See if any of them line up with an upcoming race!
Many times, marathoners want to maximize vacations by “squeezing” a marathon in. Here are some reasons you may want to look for shorter races on your next marathon.
Finally! The FAA has removed the very old restriction on portable electronic devices (put in effect long before there were such things as tablets and readers). Now you can use your portable electronic devices from the time you board until the time you get off the plane!
The Middle East airlines are some of the finest airlines in the world and there was some great news this week that affected two of these airlines. Find out how you can start booking travel on two of them easier.
Here is yet another cool sounding marathon – a marathon themed in and around the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. Check the details to see if it is enough to draw you to this special place!
This week, United released some devastating news on their new award structure that absolutely guts their partner award chart. The only good news is that the changes will not go into affect until February 1, 2014, so you have time to book those awards first (you can book for travel for after February 1, but the booking has to occur before that).
The NYC Marathon took place today! Even though I was not there, I was able to watch it on the internet. What an amazing comeback in the women’s race! Always exciting to watch marathons!
Thank you, Citi, for making my heart jump all over the place! They started sending me statements for a credit card that belonged to someone else with the same last name as me – but not related to me!
If you would like a chance to win a free Kindle, make sure you check out this post before Tuesday!
That’s it for this week! Thanks for following along and reading – make sure you come back next week for more stories and posts!
