The Trick is Complications

Apple calls the various apps that integrate with the watch faces complications. These are bits of the app that give you up-to-the-moment information from those apps. This includes things like weather, sport scores, wind direction, battery life, and more.

Now, TripIt has complications with their app that will allow them to show you, at a glance, things about your trip. This includes how much longer your flight will be, the next step of your trip, trip progress, flight delays, gate number, and more!

Depending on your watch face, you can have a lot of this information provided to you and, for TripIt Pro subscribers, you can see at a quick glance if your flight is delayed or not by seeing if the flight is red (delayed) or green (on-time).

Summary

Smartwatches are a great way to get all the info you need as you march through your next trip. I love that I can board a flight using just my watch (by scanning the digital boarding pass), get updates buzzed to my wrist, and now get all the trip updates delivered right to the watch face.

Sure, airlines have nice Apple Watch apps, but using TripIt, you can get your meetings, hotels, airlines, cars, and more all to your wrist.
