Welcome back to our Sunday Summary Series where we list the stories that were covered throughout the week.
The Garmin Forerunner 310 has seen some excellent deals over the past year. Not many of these deals have been for new ones, though. It is nice to see such consistently low pricing on a great GPS watch. If you are looking for one, you cannot go wrong with this!
The devaluation of miles and points programs is inevitable. With the cooperation of banks for the co-branded credit cards, we have seen inflation of these programs over the last couple of years. Southwest is the most recent, but in this case, it is even more difficult to swallow given their fixed point value.
We can find many ways to get to races for free but how about those pesky race fees? What can be done to get rid of those? This post looks at some credit card offers that have statement credits as their bonus. Now, you can get the money you pay for a race fee back!
I am sure you are constantly hearing about “free” travel available with points and miles. Like just about everything in this world, “free” normally doesn’t really mean no cost. In this case, you will be paying a fraction of the cost of the actual trip but there are still some costs that you should be aware of as you plan your “free” travel.
Sure it is nice to use miles and points to get travel so much cheaper than actual expense, but sometimes it just makes sense to purchase the ticket instead of using points. These fares present such an opportunity – US – Europe for $380?!
Here is a targeted offer that I always take advantage of – 5,000 Hyatt points for meeting a spending threshold. Check out the offer and see if you received the same targeted offer.
I am all for cheap race fees and you will be hard pressed to find a cheaper marathon race fee than this one! It is only available for a short time, so check it out now if you have a desire to take advantage of such a great deal.
This was a post from yesterday, so the Berlin Marathon was actually today. It was quite a race with a new marathon world record set today!
Having run the Rocket City Marathon before, I can tell you that this is a fantastic marathon and one that you should consider. If you are interested in running the 2013 Rocket City Marathon, better sign up soon as the race fee is due for a hike!
