Each year for the past few years, Aegean has run this promotion that allows Aegean members to both get a discount and earn miles for completing races! This is something that no other marathon offers and it is a really great deal! If you ever wanted to earn miles while running miles, this is the marathon for you!
In fact, with this specific marathon, consider this a 6th reason to run your first marathon! [5 Reasons to Run Your First Marathon]
Earn Airline Miles by Finishing the Limassol Marathon
To earn the miles, you need to do two things – be an Aegean member and finish the race you sign-up for. If you ever needed a nice incentive to finish a particular race distance, getting some miles could help push you over! For example, with the marathon amount (4,200 miles), finishing the race would give you almost enough miles for a free flight in Greece!
- Race Date: March 23 – 24, 2019
- Distances Offered: Marathon (26.2 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles), 10K, and 5K
- Mileage Earned:
- Marathon – 4,200 Aegean Miles
- Half Marathon – 2,100 Aegean Miles
- 10K – 1,000 Aegean Miles
- 5K – 500 Aegean Miles
- Race Fee: these fees are discounted for Aegean members for advanced registration and the rate expires September 30, 2018
- Marathon – €36
- Half Marathon – €27
- 10K – €18
- 5K – €18
- Race Location: Limassol, Cyrpus
If you can swing getting to Cyprus in March (nice time of the year to visit!), this is one of the cheapest marathons around, for sure! Not only that, finishing it will earn you a nice 4,200 Aegean miles.
Remember – Aegean miles can be combined into any account for a flat €15 fee. This means that if you run this with other friends or family, if they don’t want the miles, you could move them into your account for just €15 each. With Aegean flights in Greece costing from just 5,000 miles one way and business class flights on Star Alliance carriers to the US costing just 45,000 miles, this is a nice way to earn some more Aegean miles for awesome redemptions.
Final note – signing up does not get you the miles, you will have to complete whichever race you sign up for! 🙂
