Some of the sweet spots with Virgin Atlantic would be:

    • Redeeming from the rest of the US would be 120,000 miles (or 93,000 Amex points)
    • Search on United for the flights and then call Virgin Atlantic to book
  • Redeeming for business from the US to Europe on Delta (one way) – 50,000 points (only 39,000 Amex MR points!)

If you want to take advantage of these (or other sweet spots), definitely give those transfer bonus some thought! You have until September 12th to take advantage of it so that means you could do spending this month to have the points post in time to Amex (as long as your closing date is about one week before the 12th of September, to be safe).

  • For ANA first class from West Coast to Japan, what would the fuel charge be? How much is ANA biz class round trip? If I find the round trip on United airlines, do I call Virgin Atlantic to book and is this an easy process?

    Thanks

    • @ Jan – It would be around/under $200. Business class from the west coast would be 90,000 Flying Club miles so just 70,000 Membership Reward points. Yep, search on United and when you find the ANA flights you want, give Virgin Atlantic a call and book it! Just like that! Enjoy the flight!

  • I would like to try ANA first class, How would I go about doing this ? transfer MR to virgin atlantic or ANA?, would appreciate your kind help and thank you.

  • Can u use a stopover using Virgin Atlantic miles on ANA like you can with ANA miles on ANA?
