Southwest Is Now Open For The 2016 Boston Marathon (And Beyond)

With the opening of the schedule by Southwest into next June, the 2016 Boston Marathon is now bookable with Southwest points!

With JetBlue and Southwest, their calendar for flights open on a set schedule rather than a rolling calendar like other airlines. That means it is always good to take note of when the schedule opens since it may not be open right near the time you need it – and when it does open up, the cheapest flights for popular timeframes may go quickly.

This opening of the schedule is of particular interest to me (and the many runners traveling to Boston for the 2016 Boston Marathon) as it now includes the 2016 Boston Marathon weekend. The earlier schedule missed it by just a bit but now it has opened up and is bookable for those of you who want to select your flights for the 2016 Boston Marathon!

… And Beyond (And When It Opens Next)

The schedule is actually currently open for reservations through June 3. That is nice as it gives you just a peak into the warmer months for those wanting to start booking vacations through the first half of next year. For those of you who are looking to purchase/redeem for trips into the summer, you will need to wait until December 8 at which point the schedule will open through August 5. So, if you are looking for summer travel, make sure you check back then! If you are looking for cheap travel for the 2016 Boston Marathon, now is the time to book!
