We are heading into the summer race season. There are a lot of local races that take place throughout the summer and then, of course, we head into the half-marathon/marathon season in the fall.
Because of that, many people have turned Saturdays into their “long” run days or race days. The long run can vary for each person depending on the distance they are training for. For me, I am working on my base mileage right now so my “long” run was 12 miles today.
What did you run today? Did you race? Love to hear what the readers are doing!
I ran 2.7 miles around my country home. Wildflowers, fields, and birds were my views. I just ran my first race last weekend — a 5k. Don’t know that I’ll ever make 12 miles, but 10 weeks ago I would have told you going 1 mile was nuts!
Sounds great! Nice run!
I ran this yesterday:

I also did the La Jolla Half (San Diego) about 3 weeks ago.
Went from plush ocean side vistas to the crater of a dry lake bed. Very surreal!
Ran about 14 miles yesterday. Behind on training for SF Marathon in July 🙂
I ran the Cleveland Marathon – my 104th Marathon. I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to do it – I was sick and running a fever the day before. But I gave it a try, and I was glad I did – the marathon course was beautiful.
Fantastic – 104 is quite a number and you are still going! Great job.
