Here is another edition of a new mobile app update with a nice update from Hyatt Hotels for your smartphone. This update allows you to be more specific when searching for the best hotel for your next trip – and let you search within your reward category!

When it comes to hotel apps, Hyatt has long lagged behind the apps of hotel brands like Hilton. This is not something that has gone unnoticed by Hyatt. In fact, when I spoke with Mark Vondrasek when he took over the reigns as Executive Vice President last year, the Hyatt app was one of the things that we talked about and that he said he wanted to see improved (read all about that here).

Update Date: April 19, 2018 | Version 3.26.0 | iOS Version

This newest Hyatt Hotels app update definitely steps the usability of the app forward a bit. Now, you can filter hotels and resorts by amenity, brand, or award category.

In addition, you can also check your recent searches to pick up where you left off. Finally, they have enabled Touch ID or Face ID functionality so that you can log in quicker if you are logged out.

The last two parts are nice adjustments but the filter addition is a pretty nice one. Now, if you are searching for a Hyatt hotel in an area with more than one, you can quickly find out which ones fall within your preferences, which works great if you want a specific category of hotel for award or point usage.

For me, this has made the Hyatt app already more useful than I found it before. It lets me take care of hotel searches in a quicker way without having to go to the Hyatt website like I used to. Thank you!

Now, Hyatt, maybe you could add digital key functionality so that the app check-in actually has some real time-saving impact! 🙂
