The New Marriott Moments is Here – But SPG Moments Is Gone For Good

The new Marriott Moments site is up and loaded with many of the past favorites. The bad news is that the wonderful SPG Moments page is gone for good.

Last week, I wrote about how the Marriott/SPG Moments pages had been taken down and replaced with a something-good-coming-soon type page.

Well, the good news is that the Marriott Moments page is back. The bad news? The much-loved SPG Moments page is gone for good.

The New Marriott Moments Is Here

To visit the new Marriott Moments page, click here. It appears that everything is the same as before just replaced with the new colors and signage of the Bonvoy program.

There are a few new auctions that have been added (for things like Spring Training and Coachella) but there are some of the other ones that have been around still available as well.

The good part about this is that the pricing for many of these things seem in line with where it had been before they took the page down. In fact, accounting for the 1:3 ratio for SPG points to Marriott when they combined, some may actually cost a little less than before.

But, SPG Moments is Gone For Good

You may wonder, “what does it matter if the SPG Moments page is gone? SPG is now part of Bonvoy.” Yes, that is true. But, before the Bonvoy program was launched, Marriott Moments and SPG Moments each had their own auction pages.

This was great for the savvy deal hunter because you could place the two pages against each other to get some packages for less than others paid or to get a package after one site had it end.

This deal potential is gone for good now as the SPG Moments has been folded into the new Marriott Moments with the Bonvoy program.

I know things will pretty much be the same with the Marriott Moments program but as someone who has benefited hugely in many ways from the SPG Moments, I am sad to see that one go!

  • I have to admit, Bonvoy Moments sounds really awful. This whole Boaty McBoatface thing is starting to sound a whole lot better by comparison.
