The Chase United Explorer card was (re)introduced on June 1. It added a couple of features and took away a couple of features. It has been at a public bonus of 40,000 miles plus a $100 statement credit since then but there has also been a targeted offer of 65,000 miles (with the AU bonus) that you can read about here.

Which United Explorer Offer to Choose?
Not Targeted?
If you are not targeted for either of the better offers, it would come down to this – do you value $100 or 10,000 miles more? I know United miles are not what they used to be but I would think that most of us would value the United miles more. So, go with this public offer – here. Note: the 50,000 mile offer actually requires $3,000 in 3 months instead of the $2,000 required by the lower offer so remember that.
Targeted
If you are targeted for one or both of the better offers, then go for a targeted offer! If you value the miles more than the $100 statement credit, go for this offer. It will give you 65,000 miles and no statement credit.
After logging in, i was only given the same 40K + $100 statement credit offer. 🙁
So, definitely targeted.
Ah, that’s too bad! Thanks for the data point, though! If you are interested in it, the 50K offer without the statement credit should be a good deal!
