If you are reading this right now and saying, “huh?”, that is because you have not been in any of these countries and tried to book or check in for a Southwest flight!
I have been writing about this issue for a while and have received thousands of comments, messages, tweets, e-mails over that time expressing frustration with Southwest for this problem.
Great News! Southwest Has Stopped Blocking Many Countries From Their Website
Let’s back up a bit. For a while now, Southwest has been blocking access to their website from several countries. These aren’t countries like North Korea – these are many places throughout Europe (northern and southern) as well as many countries in Asia and Central America.
This is the message that people in countries blocked by Southwest would see
Before you say that Southwest does not fly to those locations, think about all the people that use Southwest to connect from an international flight (thanks to flexible cancellation/change policies and baggage allowances) or those that travel and want to book Southwest flights when they go on sale.

The Southwest Website Blocking Has Ended for Many Countries!
I am in Greece right now and, last night, I had went to visit a website on my phone. I accidentally clicked the Southwest webpage and was surprised when it popped up and accessible!
I quickly made sure I wasn’t using my Google Fi SIM card or that my VPN was not on. I was using a Greek IP address and having no problem accessing, searching, and even booking a ticket on Southwest.com.
This morning, I kicked the VPN on and started checking various countries from the list above. I didn’t check them all (so if you are in one of them, definitely check to see if you can access Southwest.com now) but found that Greece, Bulgaria, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sweden, and a couple of others can now access Southwest.com!
However, I did find that I was still unable to access it from a Russian or Taiwanese VPN (and I think mainland China as well but cannot remember).
So, from all of us that are your customers abroad, Southwest, THANK YOU!

more like how worthless Southworst was thinking first world locales like Singapore Norway Sweden Switzerland Japan are all worth blocking, when EACH of those places are more worth it to visit than Texas and Dallas, and easily richer on per capita basis. Once again, Texas trash at its finest.
I only learned about the blocking from some countries earlier this month when I was in Greece and Sweden and tried to look up Southwest flights to find the message you put in your post.
I hardly ever fly Southwest, but nice to know if I need a ticket when I am out of the USA that I now have access to check their fares.
