Last week, I wrote about the new best offers on the Amex Delta cards, both personal and business. Yesterday, affiliate links came out so you likely saw a lot more about these offers. 🙂
However, there is an even better offer for the Delta Gold Amex than the one that is publicly available. As with many credit card offers, it always pays to make a quick booking attempt (without actually reserving a room or buying a ticket) and this time it is no different.

Getting the Better Delta Gold Amex Offer
If the above link does not work for you, simply head over to Delta.com and start to book a reservation – any destination will do (you are not actually buying the ticket). Once you select your ticket and fare, you will see an offer for the Delta Gold Amex card before the payment page. Go ahead and click to apply!
Here are the details about this better Delta Gold Amex offer:
- Earn 60,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 in purchases on your new Card in your first 4 months
- Earn a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 4 months.
- Annual fee – $95 (waived the first year)
- Special offer expires on 7/5/2017
- Remember: Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product
The only difference between the two offers is that you will receive an extra $50 Delta statement credit. This is most likely because Amex is not paying an affiliate the referral cash for this application. Instead, Amex is passing the savings along to the customer.
Here is what the app says about the Delta $100 statement credit:
To get your $100 statement credit for this Delta purchase, your application must be approved and you must use your instant account number to pay for it. Otherwise you can still earn the $100 statement credit after making a Delta purchase on your Card within your first 4 months of Card Membership.
So, you don’t need to buy the flight. Just make a Delta purchase within 4 months to trigger the purchase.
