And it all starts with this $200 gift card for $180!

Sears and Rewards

Sears has the Shop Your Way Rewards program that allows you to accumulate points based on what you buy and then you can use those points for future purchases. Sometimes, they have special point offerings that let you get back almost as much as the item cost. To make it really lucrative, you buy the items that let you keep on rolling the points and it will basically be getting you a lot of merchandise with almost no money out. Unfortunately, not all of the deals let you roll the points – getting points when using points on a purchase – but many will.

Sign-up an account for the Shop Your Way rewards network so that you are ready to go with your account. Here is the link. Some people may qualify for special coupons and surprise points as well – so, you could save even more!

An example – a $14.99 iPad case that will give you $14.99 worth of points for a future purchase.

In addition to that, you can also go through a portal like the Ultimate Rewards portal (which is currently at 3 points per dollar) to earn more points when you redeem your gift card. The rewards portal fluctuate with their point offerings, so there may be times that you find them at around 10 points per dollar, which is really nice!

When you add all of this together, here is what you are getting:

  • A $200 gift card for $180 – savings of $20
  • $3.60 in eBay Bucks towards future purchases – $3.60
  • Points when you use the ShopYourWayRewards program at Sears – varies widely
  • Points for going through a shopping portal – between 600 – 1,000 Ultimate Reward points (worth around $10 – $18).

All of that add up to some great deal hunting! Plus, you find the right item and you could be getting a lot of points towards future purchases at Sears. Something like this Galaxy S Tab would be a great deal – or this Garmin Fenix 2.

So, what are you going to get? 🙂
