You can now use your Starpoints to get cool MLB packages plus a way to get free luxury suite tickets or do something exciting at a game!

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about SPG making Spring Training tickets available through their Moments portal. Now, they have expanded it to include a lot of regular season MLB games including a very interesting auction.

If you need Starpoints for some of these auctions, check out this post about the increased offer to 35K points on the Amex SPG cards!

Get Cool MLB Packages With Starpoints

MLB Packages

SPG Moments Sports

SPG is really heavy on Chicago Cubs games (they are the official hotel of the Cubs) for the packages but that is ok because there are plenty of tickets available for when they play other teams. The packages available are plenty and some can be purchased outright while others can be bid on.

Great Packages For Chicago Cubs

If the Chicago Cubs are not your team, there are still plenty of opportunities to score tickets with your Starpoints. That includes a few heavy rivalry games like Yankees vs Red Sox. Tickets for games around MLB can be bought or bid on from this page.

Most likely the best value (unless you are bidding/buying a game that is sold out and the secondary market is too high) is going to be the Chicago Cub home games. That is because the packages include such things as joining the team on the field, throwing out the first pitch, luxury suites, Club seats and more. If you are a Cub fan, these packages could be worth quite a bit, especially since you cannot purchase some of the with money.

To give you an idea of some of the basic value that can be had, you can get Club Box seats for 10,000 points (for two tickets). Those same tickets if purchased from the Cubs would cost $175 after all the taxes and fees. It puts your point value at 1.75 cents per point. That is under the value of 2 cents that many would pur on Starpoints but still a pretty nice deal!

How You Could Get Free Tickets

MLB Packages

One of the really interesting packages this year presents a unique opportunity. The winner will be able to sing the National Anthem at a Chicago Cubs game! That is really cool and something a lot of people may want to do.

But, what if you don’t sing that well? Perfect – this opportunity is for you! Here is how this package works. The top 3 bidders of the auction will submit an audition tape to sing at a Cubs game. If you are selected, you will be able to sing the National Anthem at the Chicago Cubs game on July 18 when they host the NY Mets. With the package you will also receive 2 suite tickets and food and drink throughout the game.

Free Tickets For The “Losers”

The real deal could be for the “losers” of the audition. If you are not selected for the singing of the National Anthem, then you will have all of your points returned to you and you will receive 2 Luxury Suite tickets to any Cubs game during the second half of the season! That’s right, free luxury suite tickets! I will not spell it all out here but I am sure you can figure out that you could easily get these tickets if you are one of the 3 top bidders and you are a bad singer (or you just record bad). 🙂

The two (2) other bidders will have their Starpoints returned and receive (2) SPG Luxury Suite tickets each to any game in the second half of regular season play.

The catch? You have to have enough points in your account to bid up to whatever it is at and your points will be held until the winning singer is chosen. If you don’t mind having your points held for a bit and if it doesn’t go higher than the points you have, this could be a nice way to score some free tickets! The bidding ends on March 21 so check it out!
