For the first time, the St. George Marathon is offering late registrations because they have not met their cap of 7,800 entrants. This is great news for anyone who may have been on the fence about entering as you will certainly get in to the marathon if you register today (before the cap fills).
Lock In An Entry For The St. George Marathon NOW!
It is also good news for all of you who have already entered into the lottery system (which closed on Monday) since it would appear that they will not be doing a lottery at all since their cap has not been reached. This means that, if you have already registered, you should expect to be running this year’s St. George Marathon!
It is a fantastic race and if you are wanting to run one of the most scenic and potentially fastest course you have ever run, you will want to register today! For those registering under this special, late registration, you will need to pay $110 for entry.

The Race Course
The race is well-known as being a very fast course. If you train correctly, and I mean really work on your quads, you can get a very fast time on this course. The starting line is at over 5,200 feet of elevation and drops to a finish line elevation of 2,600 feet. That is a serious decline! There are some small hill areas, one that I remember well was around mile 8, but everything is pretty much down.
With the race beginning in the early morning – 6:45 – you will be up at elevation in the darkness for a while. The race is a point-to-point course so you are taken by buses to the starting line. It is a very chilly morning but they are well prepared for that by having hot beverages on hand as well as campfires.
