A few months back, United announced changes that would be coming to their award chart. This saw the typical bumping up of mileage requirements on some routes but also saw some routes hit pretty hard. This is one of those routes that presents amazing value – until the November 1 changes roll around.
Last Week to Book This Amazing First Class Award for 40,000 Miles!
The Basic Details
Going from 40,000 miles one way to 65,000 miles one way on November 1.
The route this is mentioning is anything in the Australia region to South Asia and is currently bookable in first class for only 40,000 United miles one way! This presents some incredible value since this includes flying aboard Thai Airways in first class, which would not come cheap if booking with cash!
This route will bump up to 65,000 miles as of November 1, so you only have a little time left to book. You can travel anytime after that for as far off as the calendar allows but it must be booked by November 1.
These can be booked quickly and easily online at United.
Here are the countries that United considers to be in South Asia:
- Hong Kong
- Myanmar (Burma)
You can fly from/to any of the above countries to Australia/New Zealand for only 40,000 miles in first class.
Business class is available as well for only 30,000 miles. That award will be going up to 50,000 miles. So, if you are a little tight on miles or you want to take more than just yourself on a great journey, consider booking the business class options! It also opens up a lot more flight options as well.
This is a fantastic award that will soon be gone! If you ever wanted to try out Thai Airways and their first class cabin (and amazing first class ground experience in Bangkok), the time to book is now! I just wish I could squeeze a trip into my schedule but it is not to happen for now!
