If you are the kind of person who likes to plan their trips a bit in advance, you are going to be able to save a lot of money today! IHG just launched their Cyber Sale that offers 20% off at hotels around the world. It gets even better – at the end of the month, it will go up to 25% off! This is for stays from November 14, 2019 – May 31, 2020!
To get the 20% off, you need to book between November 11 and December 16. To make it sweeter, for bookings made between November 29 and December 6, you will get another 5% off!
This is a lot to take in but you will basically be getting at least 20% off the flexible rate at IHG hotels worldwide as long as you book before December 16 and travel before May 31, 2020.

The catch? You must prepay so no backing out or changing your mind later. That is ok because you are going to want to lock in prices like this anyway and not be arguing at the checkout desk in April because somehow the special rate was removed.
Earn 4X the Points!
This coincides with another IHG promo where you are able to earn 4X the points. So, since the above sale is for cash bookings, you will be earning more points than ever while also saving more money than before! That’s an absolute win-win. But, you must register for the 4X promotion.

As I wrote about earlier, Rakuten is having a one day deal of 11 Amex points per dollar spent or 11% cash back at a whole lot of retailers. To make it even sweeter, many of the IHG brands are included in that deal as well! That means if you pay $400 today for a stay next year, you will have already saved at least 20% off the regular flexible rate price plus you can earn 4,400 Membership Reward points (or $44 cash back if you want that instead). Those Amex points are worth at around $75 or more so you are getting even more value!

Any idea how much the prepaid rate normally is discounted from the flexible rate? I assume that it is less than 20% typically, else this would not be much of a promotion.
I think that it is normally 10% total, taking into account the 5% member discount already.
