Happy Thanksgiving and Thank You!

I trust everyone is having a relaxing day of enjoying the company of friends and family. While doing that, it is such a wonderful time to look back over the year and realize how much we have to be thankful for. No matter how hard things may get or how difficult days may be, we still can find something to be thankful for – this habit has made many a dark time seem brighter!

I have to say, Thanksgiving is probably just about my favorite holiday! I have many great memories of this day and the family activities we partook in. It was always nice to know that it was a day to just to let the minutes go by without having to be in the fast-paced life we are so used to. It also helped that I was not allowed to help with the cooking (my secret? keep your Turkey Trot race clothes on during the food preparation and everyone will beg you to just leave the kitchen:) JK).

I do want to say thank you to some people in connection with the blog. First of all, I would like to thank Randy Petersen for having me come on board Boarding Area. He has been a great help and advisor and I appreciate it much! I would also like to thank the staff of Boarding Area for all they do. I have a unique appreciation for all of their hard work since I had pulled my hair out (what’s left of it) quite often dealing with problems when I self-hosted my blog and attempted to troubleshoot problems. Thank you all for everything you do to keep this fantastic network running smoothly! I would like to thank my wife for being so generous with my time as I seek to write and help others with travel and running tips.

Finally, I would like to thank you, the readers. I started this blog almost two years ago as a way to help some of my running friends with travel tips so I did not rehash the same stuff all the time. I wasn’t sure how long I would be able to keep it up but getting encouraging e-mails and messages from the readers has been a tremendous help to keep pushing me to try and do better. I know how busy everyone is and for you to take your time to visit my blog and read the posts really means a lot to me. I also thank those of you who have supported this blog by using my links. That is really very humbling to me and I cannot tell you how much my family and I appreciate you doing that.

It has been a great year for Running with Miles – I look forward to a better one next year! Thank you, everyone, and may you have a blessed remainder of the day!
