I think by the time Black Friday gets here, we will already be tired of the name “Black Friday” since so many retailers are already starting their deals! That’s ok, if it translates to a lot of options at great prices, I’m all for it! Today, it is discounted MacBook 12″ models and Anker power products.
Early Black Friday Deals – November 2
Amazon started their “Early Black Friday Deals” yesterday for the start of November and Day 2 has some items that have proved very popular with Running with Miles readers in the past so here they are again!
2017 MacBook 12″ – $899 [certified refurbished]

First up is the 12″ MacBook from 2017, the base model and current model from Apple. Apple just released the long-awaited MacBook Air with Retina display but that saw the starting price go up 20 $1,199. If you want a retina-equipped MacBook at a cheaper price, this is it. My wife has the 2016 model and loves it (I used to own the 2017 model and the keyboard in the 2017 is better over the 2016 for sure). It is very lightweight yet still able to handle some decent tasks, even Photoshop (but not a lot of layers and heavy action), to help you on the road or at home.
Do note that these Woot-sold devices are Apple manufacturer refurbished. I am actually using a Woot-sold LG Ultrafine 4K display right now that was refurbished and it has been working fantastic for me!
I think we will see this base model come down to $999 around Black Friday at new prices so it is up to you – buy now for $899 for refurb or wait and see. I think this is a good deal, if you are looking for such a laptop. At the time of this writing, all 4 colors were available.
Anker Power Products

I am a huge Anker fan. I have Anker devices everywhere – my car, my office, my home, my travel bag. For the traveler, they are one of the best things you can get to keep your power department to a small section of your bag while providing a lot of juice. I have even used them to power my 12″ MacBook before! Not bad at all!
Today, there are a bunch of things on sale, including power bricks. Definitely check those out as well as things like the power block. These are great for charging all your devices from one outlet (since hotels are kind of stingy with those!).
