Put your Marriott points to use to get your choice of great Singapore Marathon packages – for free, no cash! One of them even includes a free hotel night and VIP treatment!

If you are a runner and you were ever deterred from marathons because of the cost, this package is definitely for you! The Singapore Marathon is a big event and, while not as expensive as some other marathons, it will still cost you over $100. At current exchange rates, it is $105 for foreign runners.

But, what if you could use your Marriott points and secure that entry for free? Or, get the marathon for free, a hotel stay, and VIP treatment – just with Marriott points? This is a nice way to put those points to work for your running hobby!

Singapore Marathon 2018 Details

The Singapore Marathon 2018 will take place on December 9 at 4:30AM (yeah, that is a little early for most marathons!). You can read more about it here. The image below is from the Singapore Marathon and shows what you get with your registration.

The Singapore Marathon Package

Most people would probably value Marriott points at/under 1 cent per point. This means that you would be trading about $140 worth of Marriott points for just the marathon package but it also includes a RunWESTIN package as well as the pre-marathon dinner. To be honest, the real draw would be getting some decent, regular value from your Marriott points and not needing to worry about paying for the marathon!

Here is what the first package offers (available from both SPG and Marriott at a fixed cost of 15,000 points per package):

  • One entry in to the Standard Chartered Singapore Half/Full Marathon (December 9, 2018, Winner can choose to participate in either the full or half marathon)
  • One VIP runWESTIN Gear Pack for Runner to wear for Marathon
  • Chef’s designed Pre-Marathon Dinner for two in Cook & Brew on December 8, 2018

Altogether, that is not a bad value! If we compare it to the old SPG points, it is like using 5,000 SPG points for that above package. I wouldn’t mind doing that!

The Westin Singapore – get a free night with this package!

The SPG version of this already sold out so you will need to move fast if you want to secure it on the Marriott side. Here is what you get with this package for 30,000 points.

  • One entry to the Standard Chartered Singapore Half/Full Marathon (December 9, 2018, Winner can choose to participate in either the full or half marathon)
  • Single-Night Stay in a Premier King or Twin Room, subject to availability (Check-in on December 8, 2018 – Check-out December 9, 2018)
  • One VIP runWESTIN Gear Pack for Runner to wear for Marathon
  • Welcome marathon preparation session with runWESTIN Concierge (December 8, 2018 at 6:00pm)
  • Chef’s designed Pre-Marathon Dinner for two in Cook & Brew on December 8, 2018
  • Two sets of Grab and Go pre-race breakfast
  • Transfers to and from the race
  • Access to corporate tent for one
  • Post-race mini massage on-site for one
  • 1-hour massage at Westin heavenly spa for one to be used pre or post-race

Now, this package is a great value! For those 30,000 points, you get the marathon from the first package (or half marathon, should you choose), a night at the Westin Singapore (which costs 50,000 points per night for the basic room), VIP treatment from the RunWESTIN team, pre-marathon dinner, breakfast, transfers to and from the race, the massage both on site and at the Westin – not bad for 30,000 Marriott points! The hotel itself costs 20,000 points more than that!
