While a Southwest sale is nothing new, this is one of the more fantastic sales they have. This one starts at just $39 for numerous city pairs all over the country. With Southwest’s friendly change/cancellation policy, this is the sale to book now!

Southwest Sale Details

  • Purchase from June 23 through June 25, 2020, 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
  • Continental U.S. travel valid August 11 through December 17, 2020.
    • Travel to/from San Juan, Puerto Rico valid August 18 through December 3, 2020.
    • International travel valid August 18 through December 9, 2020.
  • Continental U.S. travel blacked out November 25 & 28-30, 2020.
    • Sale fares to San Juan, PR and international destinations blacked out November 20-22, 2020;
    • sale fares from San Juan, PR and international destinations blacked out November 27-30, 2020.

One of the places I always check with sales is my home airports in western NY to Baltimore. Typically, those are over $100 and even regular sales bring it just down to like $79. This time, it is just $39 so I know this is a great sale!

Check Your Already-Booked Reservations For Price Difference

So, now is the time to search for your tickets within this sale and see if you have a better price available now than when you had booked it. If the price has dropped, you simply select to change the flight and look at the same dates and flights again. Once you go through and confirm, you will receive a refund of the difference in miles and the cash for the taxes will be transferred for the new ticket.

  • Bait and Hook. 3 flights this year, changed from direct to not after sale is over. Heck one went from direct to 3 layovers. Book with points, you’ll be less disappointed.

    • Definitely a fan of using points – especially during this crisis time. That is rough having such a schedule change! At least it is just due to the current situation that these drastic changes are happening. Hopefully it will be better by fall.
      I have not had that happen to me because the routes I book are only ever serviced by non-stop service.
