The Good News about this Cyber Monday Sale
First, everyone is going to be able to benefit, at least a little, with this sale over Delta sales because it applies to all United economy saver awards to Europe. This means you don’t have to fly out of major cities to select destinations – Europe is open to you (as long as United flies there). If there is saver award space (the awards that normally are 60,000 miles roundtrip), you are able to get a discount on them. That discount is anywhere from 12,000 miles roundtrip up to 30,000 miles roundtrip!

Which brings us to the “other” news (not bad news!) about this sale. If you are a United Airlines customer without a credit card, your discount is capped at 12,000 miles for a 20% discount. To get the full 50% discount, you need to be a Premier Platinum or Premier 1K member with a credit card to get the round trip for just 30,000!

This sale is awesome if you are flying from a regional airport in the US and it is even better if you have the United credit card. Not only will that let you spend fewer miles but it will also open up more United award availability. Once you are in Europe, you can bounce around pretty cheap with airlines like Ryanair so it doesn’t really matter too much if United does not fly to the exact city in Europe you want to visit.
