In a behind-the-scenes look at the Turkish Airlines Super Bowl ad, we see that they chose 3 Americans who had never left the US to travel the world for the ad.

Turkish Airlines continues to be the only airline to advertise during the Super Bowl. Last week, I shared a preview of their Super Bowl ad and below you will fund the extended Turkish Airlines Super Bowl ad. This year, they picked 3 Americans to star in this ad in a very cool way.

The Turkish Airlines Super Bowl Ad Sent 3 Americans to Travel the Globe

This year’s theme was linked to space travel with “Step on Each” how people have still not traveled the earth we live on – not even outside of their own country. The point of the Turkish Airlines ad was to highlight some of the over 300 destinations that they fly to worldwide. After all, they do fly to more countries than any other airline!

The cool part of the ad (as written about by AdWeek) was that they picked 3 Americans who had never even had passports to star in this ad. Those three people were Mariha Falconer (Pendelton, OR), Karlos Kemp (Chattanooga, TN), and Russ Holmes (San Diego, CA). The ad agency used these 3 individuals as the explorers, if you will, of where Turkish Airlines flies.

Another cool part that doesn’t come across in even the 100 second extended version of the ad is that these 3 travelers roamed the world for a whole month as part of this Turkish Airlines ad.

While Turkish Airlines has used big stars in the past, I love that they chose 3 people for this ad that would really be able to appreciate the opportunity – not just a job but a chance to venture outside of the US for the first time in their lives.

Congrats to those 3 people who were given something special by Turkish Airlines and who probably appreciated the experience far more than the fact that they would be seen by tens of millions of people. 🙂

    • Thank you for writing this article on our adventure!! This was the most amazing opportunity I’ve ever been gifted !! The whole experience was intense, busy and has awakened so much in myself and I am certain my two other American companions could say the same! Turkish airlines, primo and david Miami gave us all an extraordinary opportunity. Also get to plan a trip to Thailand this fall using Turkish airlines of course ! So very excited. It’s been my dream for a long time

Stars are overrated. I know stars talk crap only cuz they are getting paid to say it. I want to see ads like these. Not some stupid rich Hollywood [edit] telling me what gets her excited. Why do i even care? Do we have anything in common?

    • I agree – I really don’t care what millionaires get paid to endorse. That whole Emirates-Jennifer Aniston thing was ridiculous. Did people really want to pony up thousands of dollars to sit in a seat because she said it was great?
