The Southwest schedule extension has just been released! Now, you can book travel on Southwest all the way through October of this year. Check it out!

Southwest operates differently from many other airlines in regards to their schedule. Instead of a rolling schedule where it keeps going one day at a time, Southwest releases blocks of their schedules every couple of months. The latest Southwest schedule extension just happened so time to book for fall travel!

With Southwest, it is a great idea to book when these schedule extensions happen for a couple of reasons. One is that you can always rebook later (or even cancel) to save if the price drops. If you pay with a credit card, you will get a Southwest travel voucher good for one year from the time of booking. If you book with points, you get the points right back!

The other reason is that any holidays in the Southwest schedule extension are likely not going to get much cheaper than they are at release. That is because holiday travel is exempted from the frequent Southwest sales. So, the best time to get holiday travel booked is when it comes out!

This latest Southwest schedule extension is good for travel through October 30, 2020. The previous schedule was good through August 10. This means you now have 81 additional days for travel booking with Southwest.
