In the case of Southwest, since you are able to change your bookings at no penalty and even rebook at lower prices, it makes total sense to lock in travel for vacation periods when the schedule opens and then change the booking later if the price drops.

Book Now

There are many vacations that people take April through June so now is a great time to lock in some pricing before the early fares disappear. That means the time to book is now! The Southwest schedule now runs through June 8, 2019.

For those runners who are into the Boston Marathon, this is a great time to lock in your tickets as well! Even if you don’t know that you are in yet, you can still book and cancel later if you are not in. But, with the Southwest fare sales that pop up and generous cancellation/rebooking strategy (coupled with the no bag fees), Southwest is a great airline to book with for the Boston Marathon.

So, start looking and locking in your Southwest vacation flights. You can always cancel and rebook later if a sale gets the prices lower than you pay today.
