If you have read any of my posts on rental cars, you know that my (current) favorite when it comes to rental car loyalty programs is the National Emerald Club. They have some great perks (including additional drivers at no charge), with the best being the selection of cars that you get from the Aisle (better range of cars depending on your elite status).

Now, they have launched their One Two Free program. This program allows you to receive one free rental day for every two qualifying rentals. To be a qualifying rental, you must rent a mid-size (or larger car) for at least two days. So, if you rent a car for two days twice, you will receive a free rental day for use anywhere else.

You must register before your first rental and the rentals must take place between August 20 and January 31. You will have until June 15, 2015 to use the free rentals.

The way it actually works is that you will receive 300 points for each qualifying rental with 600 points required for the free rental day. You are only able to use up to three of the free rental days in a row, so these would great for rentals that might take place in the middle of the week, especially at expensive locations. I used one of my free rental credits when I was back in the US for a day I needed a car and I was able to use it on a rental that would have cost $88 for the day!

In addition to the rentals, you can also earn bonus points through various offers – like referring a friend (300 points), downloading the app (25 points), renting a car in Mexico (300 points) and many others.

This can be quite a lucrative offer, depending on how you use your free day. If you rent a two-day, weekend rental, you can pay the smallest amount and doing that twice will net you a free day that could be worth a lot.
