A Great Credit Card – And I Can’t Get It

I was walking around Dubai today before making my way to the packet pick-up/race site for tomorrow’s marathon. Near the starting area, they were setting up a ton of banners for the various sponsors. The title sponsor of the race is Standard Chartered Bank. Since I am always looking for some good travel/money deal, I did a quick double take when I saw a credit card offering – 10% CashBack! I got really excited – until I remembered that I would not be able to apply for the card (not being a citizen of the UAE and all).

great credit card

Nice credit card offer!

This would be a great card to get in the US! It has limits – the 10% cashback only applies to purchases at supermarkets, utilities, and school fees. Further, it only gives a max of 400AED ($108) per month. Even with that limit, that still equates to a little over $1,300 cashback each year. Not bad – especially if they had prepaid cards at supermarkets. 🙂 For those interested in looking at the card, here is the application link (of course, I do not receive a commission for this card). Come on, Chase/Amex/Citi/Barclays/etc – give us a card like this! 🙂
