Written by Charlie

Just a short note to express my thanks to many of you and to give some details about a mega giveaway to give back to you!

With it being Thanksgiving in the US, I want to wish all of my US readers (and those currently traveling/living abroad) a Happy Thanksgiving!

A Giving of Thanks!

Thanksgiving is truly one of my favorite holidays, and not because of the huge shopping deals available! It is actually one of my favorites just because what an incredible family day it has been for so many years. I have a wonderful family and am truly thankful and grateful for each member of it. My wife and I have 4 kids that are growing too quickly but are such a joy to have and to be with. Also, they put up with my travel interests and my constant hashing out a particular deal out loud to get a sense of how big it may or may not be. 🙂

My kids love the perks of this travel hobby!

Of course, they do get to reap the benefits of this hobby we enjoy as well (while being great sports about my time it also)! In fact, it is just an assumed thing when we go to a hotel that we are going to wind up in a suite. On a recent hotel stay, our 4 year old son walked in to our suite and said “well, its nice … even though it is not a presidential suite!” 🙂 Yes, they may be a bit spoiled when it comes to some aspects of travel!

I also want to publicly thank Randy and the team at the House of Miles that supports the BoardingArea network. I was able to recently go to the conference again and they put on a terrific conference. Not only did they not charge us, but they provided many goodies and excellent speakers to help us try to hone our skills as bloggers. I was also able to visit the BoardingArea headquarters out in Colorado. It is like a museum of frequent flyer programs and benefits! But, it was also a great time to sit down with the team and take their advice on what things may help this blog continue to grow and provide what I hope is valuable content to my readers. So, thank you, Randy and the whole team!

Thank you, Randy!

Last but not least, I would like to thank my readers. This has been a fantastic year of growth on the blog which means many, many more new readers this year. That helps me to try and produce more helpful content to satisfy what you visit here looking for. In the coming year, I will be making some adjustments to meet my original target of the running community but I do not plan on stopping the other content. I have always written about things that I found to be of interest to me and hoped it would interest you as well. That you all choose to take valuable time out of your day to stop by means a lot to me.

Some Details about the Mega Giveaway – Celebrating 5 Years and You, the Readers

I also appreciate all of you who have clicked on my links. That helps to support the blog and really is a big help. Thank You very much! As a means of showing you my appreciation, I will be having another Mega Giveaway soon to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Running with Miles.

There will be one part of it launched tomorrow with the rest coming in the next couple of weeks. You will not want to miss it as I have been accumulating some pretty nice prizes (I think so anyway and would love to win them myself!) to try and give back a bit. Due to the large quantity of prizes, I will not be doing them all in one day but will have several prizes in a single giveaway each day for a few days. If you have been wanting a fitness device, a tablet, tech devices, gift cards, and maybe even some upgrade certificates, you will not want to miss this Mega Giveaway!
