If you are planning any stays at Marriott brand hotels, this is the day to book those reservations! Today is also a great time to stack those with Amex Offers currently running so you can earn 10 American Airline miles per dollar and get statement credits on Amex cards!
Earn 10 AA Miles Per Dollar with Marriott
Link: Earn 10 AA Miles With Marriott
Here’s how this works – just book your Marriott hotel through the American Airlines AAdvantage portal and you will earn 10 AA miles for every dollar you spend with Marriott! Here are the details you need to know:
- Not eligible on purchases made with coupon or discount codes that are not found on this site
- Not eligible on gift cards, gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents
So, you are just booking a regular reservation and if you use any coupon/discount type codes, you won’t get the 10 miles per dollar. If you have a discount code that gives you better than a 15% discount on the prices you see, you would probably want to go with that instead of the AA miles anyway.
Stack with Amex Offers
Fortunately, there are several Amex Offers that are available for different Marriott brands so you can save even more money. The nice part is that these credits are issued by American Express so it will not affect the 10 miles per dollar you are earning. So, if you were to book a Fairfield hotel for a total of $200, you would earn 2,000 AA miles and get $40 back when you use your Amex card that has that offer tied to it. Not bad!
So, make sure you check your Amex cards and save each offer to the card you plan on using for your Marriott stay.

Yes, these all say that you need to book at the hotel websites but you can still go through Marriott and then pay for your stay with that card. This way, you can take advantage of both deals.
While I would not use this situation to earn AA miles, specifically, this is a great way to take advantage of that deal to earn some miles for Marriott bookings you may be planning on making anyway.
Any idea when these AA miles for Marriott stays actually post? I made some reservations in November (completed stays in December) and have never seen any points post.
I had the exact same experience. Miles never posted, and I even prepaid for the rooms when I made the reservation.
