Almost a year ago, Garmin released their latest Forerunner series watch – the Garmin Forerunner 645. I have had extensive experience with it, both in training and in races, and it is, by far, my favorite Garmin Forerunner watch yet.
Deal Alert: Sale on Garmin Forerunner 645 – Music and Regular Models
It is lightweight, good battery life, a great look for everyday wear, and gives all the advanced features that runners that are into the data would want. The regular price on these models is Apple Watch Series 4-styled pricing – $399 for the non-music model and $449 for the Music model (these also are now Spotify enabled!). These were cheaper around Black Friday but if you missed out on them then, this could be a nice chance to grab one.
As the differences are in the name, it just comes down to whether you want music onboard your watch or not. If you use it off your phone, then you could go for the non-music model and save $50. If you want music, the Music one is for you.
Today, Garmin authorized retailers have dropped their prices on these watches by $50 each. I am not sure if this has to do with another Forerunner watch coming this year or not. With the recent announcement of the Garmin Vivoactive 3 with LTE, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw the Forerunner 645 successor include the same. In fact, it could really go big and have built-in mapping like the Fenix 5 Plus lineup.
Either way, a new successor will end up costing more so if you were looking to get a good deal on the Garmin Forerunner 645 models, this could be a good time for that. Check your favorite Garmin retailer as they should all be at this discounted pricing (the links above are for Amazon). If you buy from companies like Clever Training or TriSports, you will earn reward points that equal 10% of the purchase price that can be great for future purchases.
Personally, my favorite was the Slate bezel Garmin Forerunner 645 Music – looks classy and casual all in one!
