If you want to try some great business or first class cabins, see if you are targeted for this 20% Amex transfer bonus to Aeroplan! But, be ready to use it if you have it!

I would assume this is a highly targeted as the Amex -> Aeroplan transfer bonuses usually are! If you want to get some more Aeroplan miles, however, definitely take a quick minute to see if you are targeted for this great deal!

This is one of those exploding/disappearing Amex transfer bonuses. This means that it could be gone if you view it and come back later. So, do not go hunting around for it and clicking on it unless you are sure you want to commit!

However, I believe this is one of the better Aeroplan transfer bonuses we have seen from Amex. In the past, there have been 10% bonuses (which I was not targeted for) and this is the first time I have been targeted for one so I am happy with the 20%!

Aeroplan is a great program to use for award redemptions between the US and Europe in premium cabins. For just 55,000 miles, you can fly from the US to western Europe in business class (it costs an extra 2,500 miles for western Europe). A nice bump up is to go for the 70,000 mark in first class if you really want to experience that!

Where to Find the Amex Transfer Bonus to Aeroplan

For me, it popped up on my summary page as a suggested transfer option. If you do not see it that, just go to the Membership Rewards page and look at the transfer partners. If available to you, you will see that transfer bonus highlighted on the Aeroplan tab.

Don’t Forget the Fuel Surcharges

Just remember that you will pay fuel surcharges for awards on Lufthansa and Austrian. But, you can still fly with LOT Polish, SAS, United, Turkish, and SWISS for no fuel surcharges at all! Also, if you do want to sample the legendary Lufthansa First Class cabin, you are better off doing it on an award from Europe to the US as you will pay half the surcharge fees (there are some other reasons you may want to do this as well – check out this post for more).

So, for a business class ticket from San Francisco to Zurich, for example, this transfer bonus would allow you to grab that for just 46,000 Membership Reward points! That isn’t that bad at all!
