Find out what your Aeroplan Black Friday Mystery Bonus is! You could score miles at just 1.1 cents each for some cheaper premium travel.

Get ready for a lot of sales on buying miles and points as we get closer to Black Friday! Traditionally, these sales will be the best deals the airlines and hotels offer in a year so if you are looking for some maximum value on purchased miles and points, keep your head up this season! First up is Aeroplan miles with a Black Friday mystery bonus of up to 125% of the miles purchased.

Right from the top, like I always say, unless you have a solid use for these miles in the near future, do not buy! Making a speculative purchase on airline miles is really not a great idea since devaluations can and do happen at any time and often without warning. That could make that great mileage purchase all of a sudden a bad purchase.

But, if you have some upcoming travel with any of the Aeroplan partners, this could be a great deal. You just have to click the link above and sign-in to your account to see what kind of bonus you get. Most people I know are getting the 100% bonus (including myself) which brings the cost of the miles down to 1.27 cents a piece. Not bad but not as good as 1.1 cents!

Be aware of something else – Aeroplan has been having issues with showing partner award availability online which means you have to call in. This can be extremely time intensive (unless you get them right when they open at 7AM ET).

Also, keep in mind that you can “buy” Aeroplan miles for around 1.4 cents a piece any time you want – simply by going to book an award and then doing a combination of points and cash. Again, not as good as 1.1 or even 1.2 but if you aren’t ready to book something right now, it is still an option if you don’t have enough miles later.
