JetBlue is one of the original revenue-based award redemption programs. Basically, you will earn a fixed rate for every point you redeem. You can expect to get around 1.4-1.5 cents per point with awards starting at 5,000 points. Coincidentally, that is the amount of points that JetBlue is giving out to new members who register, book, and fly before April 30th! That is like getting about $70 in free airfare!
To earn these 5,000 points, you must sign-up for a new account before booking your qualifying ticket! After that, you must fly between March 3 and April 30th to earn the 5,000 points. The qualifying flight can be a one-way or round-trip, so you may even pay less for the ticket than the value of the bonus points you earn back!
Here are the instructions from JetBlue – start here.
Become a TrueBlue member today to earn TrueBlue points, starting with your next JetBlue flight. You’ll earn 5,000 bonus points* when you register for TrueBlue below, then book and fly a JetBlue flight (one-way or roundtrip) between March 3 and April 30, 2014.
Just follow these easy steps:
- 1.) Fill out the form below to join TrueBlue and register for this promotion
- 2.) Book your flight (new bookings only)
- 3.) Fly by April 30, 2014
I do have to say, that part about the new bookings stinks! I do not normally fly JetBlue but my family just bought tickets last week for the end of April for JFK – Rochester! We could have each earned enough points for a one-way back to JFK but we are cannot qualify because this offer was not around when we booked around tickets. 🙁 Such a shame, too, as none of us have JetBlue accounts and would have certainly signed up for them!
This is definitely something to consider if you have the choice of JetBlue for your flights before April 30th. Then, you can combine those 5,000 points with the bonus points you can earn from applying for the JetBlue American Express card (I do not receive a commission for this card). You can earn 20,000 points after spending only $1,000 in 3 months (no fee for the first year). That many points are worth almost $300 – not bad, especially when paired with the 5,000 points from this promo.
