This has been a bit of an unusual offer. I first noticed it back in March but it required that you login to access your account and apply. Well, logging in only told you that their systems were down and you had to call in. I figured it was some problem with the system and just pushed it off.

75,000 Point Offer Is Back

Well, it was to have expired June 30, but now the offer has a new expiration date of September 29, 2015. That is great as it gives you enough time to keep it on your radar for your next credit card application cycle so that you do not have to apply right now.

The link still required you to sign-in and then gives you a systems busy message with a phone number. So, I would just give them a call and apply over the phone. It is inconvenient but at least you may be able to handle any issues with your application right then instead of waiting.

This offer of 75,000 Membership Reward points is available for both the Business Gold and Business Platinum cards. The Business Platinum card has seen recent bonuses of 100,000 and 150,000 points so it may not be the offer for everyone right now. Still, if you want to pick up another 75,000 points, it is available. Plus, it requires a lot less in spending than the other offers.

To apply, you can try signing in, or just call Amex at 1-800-519-OPEN to apply.

The Offer

The offer on this card is for 75,000 Membership Reward points after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months of card membership. The annual fee of $175 is waived for the first year so there is nothing that you will need to pay to get this card for a year.

This card has always had some decent spending categories but has recently shifted to a choose your own style. Here is what you have to choose – 3X bonus from spending in one of the following categories:

  • Airfare purchased directly from airlines
  • U.S. purchases for advertising in select media
  • U.S. purchases at gas stations
  • U.S. purchases for shipping
  • U.S. computer hardware, software, and cloud computing purchases made directly from select providers

Whatever categories you do not select will automatically earn 2x bonus points.

Overall, this is a strong offer and something you should consider!

Business Platinum Card

To apply, you can try signing in, or just call Amex at 1-800-519-OPEN to apply.

The Offer

Spend $5,000 in 3 months to get 75,000 Membership Reward points. This is one of the lower spending offers for this card with a bonus over 50,000 points. While the 100K and 150K offers are certainly better when they are around, they each require quite a bit more in spending – like $10,000 for the 100K offer. If spending that much is a problem, then this offer may be for you.

The annual fee of $450 is not waived the first year, but you do get the $200 in airline incidental reimbursements per calendar year. That will give you $400 back in your pock towards travel. You will also get the $100 Global Entry reimbursement which is another great perk. Plus, as always, the Platinum card comes with lounge access to a variety of lounges through the card itself and through the Priority Pass membership. It also gives access to the Amex Conceriege lounges that are beginning to pop up all over.

The Amex Platinum card has a host of perks and is great for the traveler. There are many ways that even casual travelers can get more than $450 value back, not to mention the 75,000 Membership Reward points which are worth well over $1,000.

As long as you have not had the card in the last 12 months, you are eligible to get the bonus. The personal Platinum does not count as the same product.

Expires September 29, 2015

  • The gold card offer does not display the system down language if you are targeted. You get to an application after entering your login information if you are targeted. I applied for it last week.

  • I called the number given and they would not honor it without an RSVP code.

You should try and confirm this before you make a post!

    • I did. You may not have had a good rep. Many people had been approved doing that before I wrote about it.
Did you try logging in and seeing if the app loaded for you? It does load for some people.
