Where Am I?

My wife’s family is in town and really wanted to go to NYC they are here. So we had planned a nice three day trip down there. We are flying down on Delta (of course!) and my wife and I are staying at the Andaz 5th Avenue (courtesy of the Chase Hyatt Visa). We had a nice layout of plans of what to do during our short stay.

We were scheduled on the first flight put this morning which was cancelled late last night due to a crew issue. Of all reasons for delays and cancellations, crew issues are the ones I have the least patience for. Don’t get me wrong, I understand there are many things that can come up and i don’t fault anyone for that. I just do not like having a cancellation due to that.

So we came to the airport for our updated flight and are now sitting here 30 minutes PAST our new departure time and still have 20 minutes to go before we get updated. There is bad weather in NYC so this delay is due to weather. However, if we had not lost our earlier flight, we would be sitting eating New York style pizza right now 🙁

I will post a review later of the Andaz (my favorite NYC hotel) with pictures and a reminder of how you can get there. Sorry for the lag in posts the last few days – it has been busy!

I will say this – this is yet another area where having elite status with an airline really helps. The Delta phone line was getting jammed yesterday people who were getting stranded thanks to Hurricane Isaac. I called the platinum line and was rebooked on my current flights (all 11 of us) in a matter of 5 minutes. The Delta phone reps on the elite line have always been a big help to me – thanks!
