I received a nice offer for Waldorf Astoria hotels that can work great at certain properties, depending on the season. Check it out!

For properties outside of the U.S, UK and Europe, the prevailing exchange rate equivalent of $100 in local currency (as determined by the property) will be applied to the folio in the value of credit earned. Hotel credit is non-transferable, void upon checkout, and cannot be redeemed for cash or applied towards future stays. Additional restrictions may apply. Contact the participating property or visit the property’s web site for the property’s specific terms & conditions.
I mistakenly had originally read it as including room rates instead of excluding room rates. So, this $100 credit would be for things like dining and other excursions that are allowed with each hotel. It would act more like the credit that is received with the Amex FHR rates but you don’t have to have an Amex Platinum or Centurion card to take advantage of this. Thanks to the readers below for catching my mistake!

What dates did you use for the 194 rate?
It was for June – August – yes, the hot months! 🙂
The upside is that you have more of a reason to stay inside a Waldorf for most of your stay!
The terms state “Credit will be applied towards certain hotel charges excluding room rate, corresponding taxes and select activities as determined by the property.”
From my reading, this means that the credit is for spend at the hotel for additional spend? And you’re not really getting the $100/night off the room rate?
You are right! So, it would work more like an Amex FHR rate then. I guess my quick reading saw that instead as “including” so thanks for catching it! I will update.
Terms suggest credit doesn’t apply to room rate – doesn’t that change your whole calculation?
You and Glenn are correct, my apologies. I read it quickly and my mind processed that instead as includes instead of excludes. I will update. Thanks for catching it!
[…] can check out Running with Miles‘ take on this as […]
Terms state as follows: INCLUDES 100 USD AWARD PER 2 PAID NIGHTS — so not $100 per night.
No, it says for each night in the calculation part of the terms.
When I read the terms & conditions on the AMEX offer it says “Offer only valid at Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts™ and Conrad Hotels & Resorts™ in the US & Puerto Rico”. Your list includes properties outside of the US. Is your list correct for the AMEX offer or does it only apply to the $100 per night credit offer?
