United Airlines is adding a new non stop flight to Greece for this summer season, opening up even more available seats for travelers.

Last week, I published the details and schedules of the non-stop flights from the US to Greece. While there is already a healthy amount of flights that make that jump now, United has hopped in with another flight option! Always nice to see more options coming out, especially as tourism ramps up in Greece.

United Airlines New Flight to Greece

This new United Airlines flight to Greece will run from May 23 – August 12. Honestly, that is a strange time to end this route considering that the biggest summer holiday in Greece is the week of August 15. There are thousands of Greeks who travel back for that week or who take vacation to travel to the US. United should run that through at least August 19 to get that crowd but I am sure they must have a good reason! 🙂

It departs Chicago at 4:35PM and arrives in Athens the following day at 10:50AM. This is being operated on a Boeing 787. The journey from the US is blocked at 10 hours and 15 minutes.

On the return, it departs Athens at 12:45PM and arrives in Chicago the same day at 4:25PM. This return is blocked at 11 hours and 40 minutes.

That is a nice schedule both ways. It has a great afternoon departure and arrival time in Chicago to allow for connections from the West Coast and also works nicely on the Athens side to allow for feeder flights to the islands or to get settled in at an Athenian hotel.
