Turkish Airlines Adding New Flights to Tokyo for the 2020 Summer Olympics

Turkish Airlines announced recently that they will be adding new flight to Tokyo next year for the 2020 Olympics. They are certainly not going to be the only ones but they are a good airline to consider for flights to the Olympics.

Turkish Airlines flies to more countries than any other airline in the world and they are perfectly located to offer good flight options anywhere in the world. Also, Turkish Airlines is a really nice airline to fly – in economy or business! Even in economy, you get 2 free bags which can be real nice if you carry a bunch of stuff with you in your travels.

Finally, with more flights, the award options should be better as well. Flight availability is going to be tight for the Olympics but Turkish does often have good availability. The trick is that they seem to open up the award floodgates in dumps so be ready to book when the time comes!

You should be able to start booking flights on Turkish Airlines for the 2020 Summer Olympics around the 1st of August, 2019.

Aircraft assignment can change but, as of right now, the second flight of the day on days with two flights is the Boeing 787. That means it will have the new business class suite.

I realize that Turkish Airlines is not the most ideal carrier for many people in the US to get to Tokyo but if you are heading to Tokyo from anywhere else or you want options, Turkish Airlines is a great option.

Not only that, but having a layover in the new Turkish Airlines lounge isn’t the worst layover in the world either! 🙂
