Millions of stimulus checks have gone to bank accounts and been put in the mail. Here is how you can track your $600 check so you know when to expect it.
IRS “Get My Payment” Tool Back for $600 Stimulus Payments
Many direct deposits of the stimulus money have already gone out (I received mine this morning, as did many other Americans). If you want to check the status on your own payment, you can do that at this link below.
Link: Get My Payment Page
Unlike last time, you will not be able to make changes to how you receive the payment this time. Checks started going out December 30 but it could take a couple more weeks for all the checks to go out. Direct deposits have also gone out as well with all payments planned to have been sent by January 14.
Get My Payment will let you confirm:
- That we sent your second Economic Impact payment, also known as a stimulus payment.
- That we sent your first payment. Some people received their first Economic Impact Payment in partial payments. If you received partial payments, the application will show only the most recent.
- Your payment type: direct deposit or mail.
Data is updated once per day overnight, so there’s no need to check more than once per day.
Please do not call the IRS about the second stimulus payment; our phone assistors do not have additional information beyond what’s available here on IRS.gov and in the Get My Payment application.
While most people that do not receive their money via direct deposit will get a check, some recipients may receive a debit card, as happened last time. Make sure you read this post to make sure you do not miss that!
How Much Money Will You Receive?
Here is a calculator that shows you what you can expect to receive from the second stimulus checks.
This is written by the same Jasmine J Mah that wrote the first stimulus calculator – hope it helps to make this all a little more simple for you!
I hope this helps you as you track your $600 stimulus check. The new Get My Payment tool should help you with that.
