The great Southwest sale has been extended – save 50% off many Southwest flights, using points or cash! It ends today and you need the code to save!

This sale was to have ended last night but Southwest extended it for one more day! So, if you missed it  yesterday, get in now! You can always cancel and get the points back for free!

While it is for select flights, there are a lot of them available and some great deals to be found! I already rebooked some trips and booked others with huge savings!

This sale actually came at a great time. I had booked a trip back with the 40% deal in June – only to have Southwest send me an e-mail a few days after saying that the trip was cancelled, at my request. Nope – that was not me! And they wouldn’t give it back to me so I had to rebook at a much higher price. Well, thanks to this sale, I got an even better price than before! 🙂

Here are the details on this Southwest sale:

  • Use promotion code WOW50
  • Book from 9/26-9/29/23
  • Valid for travel on select flights from 10/24/23-3/6/24.
  • Cont. U.S. travel blacked out 11/17-11/22, 11/25-11/27, 12/21-12/23, 12/26-12/30, 1/1-1/2, 1/6-1/7, 2/16, and 2/19. SNA (Orange County) blacked out 10/24-12/31, 1/1-1/2, 1/6-1/7, 2/16 and 2/19.
    • Travel to intl, HI, PR blacked out 11/17-11/19, 12/15-1/8, 1/11-1/13 and 2/15-2/18.
    • Travel from intl, HI, PR blacked out 11/24-11/27, 12/15-1/8, 1/15-1/16, and 2/23-2/27

Yep. there are a lot of blacked out dates, which you might expect given the amount of holidays in this booking window. But, outside of that, there are a whole lot of good deals to be had as well!

Just make sure you enter code WOW50 in the promo box on the booking page and look for the prices that have strikethrough prices – in either cash or points. Not all flights will be on sale, in fact, many of the “best” options (like nonstop flights) may not be included in it.

If you are wanting to rebook a current reservation, you will need to cancel that one and book a new one using the code. Though, if you have the points, I would book first and cancel later to make sure you get the flights you want.

As with all Southwest bookings, you can always cancel later and get your points back for free or get the cash value back as a credit.
