Starting today, you can earn extra bonus points and even a free night with Hyatt’s new Bonus Journeys promo. Register and earn those points after your second night!

Last week, registration opened for Hyatt’s new Bonus Journeys and the earning period starts today, March 1. This opens up a new opportunity to continue to earn even more points on Hyatt stays. While it is not as great as the promotions that ended yesterday, it is still a nice way for those who are easing back into hotel stays as a way to maximize your earning potential.

Here is the gist of it – for every two eligible nights, you will get 2,000 bonus points. This is on top of the points you would earn already with those nights. Even better, if you have the Hyatt Credit Card, you are going to get an extra 500 points for a 2,500 point total every two nights.

This works on all nights from now until June 15 and the two nights do not have to be consecutive nights, good news for people like me who mostly stay just a single night someplace. To make it even better, after 10 nights, you will earn a free night certificate for a Category 1 – 4 hotel. Just keep in mind that this free certificate is only valid for 180 days from the time it is issued.

Of course, to earn any of this, you will need to be registered so make sure you register (if you are not already) to be ready to maximize any earnings you may get at Hyatt hotels. I would not think this promotion is one that most would benefit from in terms of mattress runs (hotel stays specifically booked and used for the purpose of earning nights for points or elite credit), it is definitely a good one to turn your head to Hyatt if there are other options available at your destination.

Here are the details you need to know:

  • From February 23 through May 15, 2021, all members can register to earn 2,000 Bonus Points every two qualifying nights from March 1 through June 15, 2021.
  • Nights do not have to be consecutive and can include stays across 1,000+ locations worldwide, including:
  • Participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide across 19 brands such as Thompson HotelsAndazAlilaPark HyattDestination Hotels, and Hyatt Regency.
  • Participating MGM Resorts destinations, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) hotels and Lindblad Expedition experiences.
  • World of Hyatt Credit Cardmembers can earn 2,500 Bonus Points every two qualifying nights during the Promotion Period – which is 500 extra Bonus Points!
  • Plus, all members can earn up to one Free Night award at a Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel after their first ten qualifying nights during the Promotion Period (valid up to 180 days after issuance).
  • Must register before your stay to earn points

Bottom Line

I would certainly recommend you sign-up for this promotion as you never know if you will end up having stays that will work for it (by the way, award nights count for the eligible nights, too!). While many of us already may have several of the free night certificates, if you have enough nights between now and June 15 anyway, why not add one more to the collection? These can be valuable at many hotels!
