It has been 5 months since the last SLH additions into the Hyatt program and this is yet another great wave of additions! Taking a deep dive into the newest hotels, there are some great new countries and cities that Hyatt members can now book in as well as one of the most iconic Greek hotels and currently the hotel of the year, the Canaves Oia Hotel in beautiful Santorini, Greece.

This latest list also continues to add to the already impressive list of hotels and resorts in Italy and Greece that are bookable with Hyatt points. Hyatt is the program to use if you want to redeem with points in these countries. Greece gets 3 new properties with Hyatt and Italy gets 11 to add to their total. Not to be left behind, Switzerland adds 4 new properties and the United Kingdom gets an additional 2. Spain this time around gets just a single property.

But, there are some properties in other countries that do not have a Hyatt presence (or much of one). These countries include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Lithiuania, Morocco, and Nicaragua.

Private Island!

Yes, speaking of Nicaragua, the Calala Island is a private island resort and now bookable with Hyatt points! Yes, it will cost you 40,000 points for one night but this hotel has many nights costing over $2,000 per night for 2 people so that could be an incredible luxurious value!

What World of Hyatt Members Get at SLH Properties

Read: My Experience at a Small Luxury Hotel as a Hyatt Member

Booking at any of these Hyatt properties as a basic member will actually give you much more than booking at an actual Hyatt property. Here is what all World of Hyatt members receive at these properties when booked through Hyatt:

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Daily Complimentary Continental Breakfast for two guests
  • Room Upgrade (one category at check-in if available)
  • Early check-in (noon, based upon availability at check-in)
  • Late check-out (2:00pm, based upon availability at check-in)

The breakfast and upgrade is something that only Hyatt Globalist members get at regular Hyatt properties so those are some nice reasons to book SLH properties through Hyatt!

  • Great for non top elite couple travelers. Not so much globalist family travelers. I find award redemption for most of these SLH properties for single bad room good for 2 people only. Plus I get only continental breakfast and no confirmed suite upgrade when I can get full breakfast for 2+2 and confirmed suite upgrade plus all the added benefit of Globalist at Hyatt properties.

    • You are correct! I have talked to Hyatt about that as it is really not that much of an incentive for Globalists to choose these properties over others. I understand that upgrades are a tough thing since some of these properties are small with very few suites but it would be good to have something like a $100 dining credit or similar since breakfast is already included. They did say they are looking for ways to add more value for Globalists.
