This one is my favorite of the two because it is at Best Buy. With Best Buy, there are a couple of things going for this deal. One is the fact that they sell open box models which can often be just like new and save you even more and the other is the possibility of earning points with something like your American Express card and this offer here, going through a shopping portal, and Best Buy’s own rewards program.

For a limited-time, they have the Apple Watch Series 2 watches marked $70 off. The open box ones are even lower making for almost $100 off retail price! The Apple Watch Series 2 42mm is on sale for $329 and the Apple Watch Series 2 38mm is on sale for $299.

This is a repeat of a deal from earlier this year/late last year. It is at Target and you can save another 5% if you have a Target REDcard. This deal is also for $70 off bringing these watches to a great price for the latest Apple Watch version. You can also save here by going through a shopping portal.

The Apple Watch Series 1 42mm is on sale for $229 and the Apple Watch Series 1 38mm is on sale for $199.

Which Apple Watch To Buy?

If you are a runner or plan on swimming with your Apple Watch, go with the Apple Watch Series 2. You will pay the same $100 difference that you normally would but you may be able to save even more by going with an open box model from Best Buy.

These could make great Mother’s Day gifts as well so think that one through if your mother is the type that would love something like this.

Should You Buy Something Else?

After owning and using every version of the Apple Watch, I keep coming back to my Garmin watches. I love the apps that are on the Apple Watch but I need a watch that works really well for me in the running department and is just simple.

Garmin Fenix 5

Garmin gives me that all the while adding apps to its library that are beginning to serve me well in my needs. After all, the apps and notifications are working off of your phone and if I really want to check something out, I just pull out my phone! Right now, I am wearing the new Garmin Fenix 5 Sapphire model and absolutely loving it! I will have a review out eventually but for now, the Apple Watch cannot sway me from this Garmin Fenix 5 – it is a fantastic watch for everyday wear and my running. But, do be aware that these are quite a bit more expensive than the Apple Watch! Unless you work some great deals like I did. 🙂 More on that later!

Garmin Forerunner 230/235

If you don’t want to go that high-end, definitely check out the Garmin Forerunner 230 ($175 right now) or the Garmin Forerunner 235 ($250 right now). The difference between the two is that the 235 has a built-in optical heart rate monitor so you will get heart rate feedback all the time like you would with the Apple Watch. I actually just came from the Garmin Forerunner 235 and it is a great watch (I only switched because I really like the Fenix line). Both watches give you smart notifications from your phone as well as offering some decent battery life in a lightweight package.
