Check out this great transfer bonus from Chase Ultimate Rewards to Air Canada Aeroplan – a 30% transfer bonus!

While transfer bonuses from American Express to their travel partners happen semi-often, it’s more rare with Chase Ultimate Rewards. That’s why this new transfer bonus offer of a 30% bonus to Air Canada Aeroplan is such a nice deal!

Update: Thanks to a reader for letting us know that Chase has updated the terms to say that this starts November 1 – so hold off until then!

Air Canada and their Aeroplan program are a member of the Star Alliance which means you can book award flights through them with airlines like United Airlines, Lufthansa, Turkish, SWISS, Austrian, ANA, and more. I have been booking quite a few award trips with them recently (three different trips between the US and Europe for my family of 7 – each flight in business class!), thanks to some of their features (like being able to pay for some of it with cash at a decent rate).

While there are still some things about Aeroplan that I REALLY do not like, they are definitely a program with a lot of value, if you know what you want. They also have not allowed the one-way stopover awards to be booked online as well (at a cost of 5,000 miles for the stopover).

Here is what this transfer bonus says:

Limited time offer: Get 30% Bonus Aeroplan Points when you transfer points through 11:59PM EST on November 30, 2022. Bonus Points will be awarded by Aeroplan in your Aeroplan account when your transfer is complete. Promotional offer terms and conditions apply.

To take advantage of it, login to your Chase Ultimate Rewards account and go to “Transfer to Travel Partners” to select Air Canada. This doesn’t say anything about it being targeted and I have it in my accounts but just in case it is targeted, make sure it shows your 30% bonus before transferring.

Getting Chase Ultimate Rewards

If you do not currently have Chase Ultimate Rewards, it is unlikely that you could get them in time from a new card bonus. But, if you want some Chase Ultimate Reward points – or more of them – so that you are ready to transfer next time, here are some great limited time sign-up bonuses for cards that can help you with that. Note that the Chase Ink cards are for cash back but that cash back can be transferred to accounts with Chase Ultimate Reward earning cards if you have one of them.

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve – 80,000 points after spending $4,000 in 3 months ($550 annual fee)
  • Chase Ink Business Cash – $900 Cash Back (or 90,000 points if you have a UR earning card) after spending $6,000 in 3 months (NO annual fee)
  • Chase Ink Business Unlimited – $900 Cash Back (or 90,000 points if you have a UR earning card) after spending $6,000 in 3 months (NO annual fee)

Then there is the regular Chase Sapphire Preferred offer that is available right now

  • This doesn’t appear to be coding correctly or the bonus is delayed. I did a test transfer of 1k points and got only 1k points on the Aeroplan side. The Chase website when I was doing the transfer only showed that I would earn 1k on Aeroplan side though it did have a note about the 30% bonus that would appear “after the transfer is complete”. Maybe the bonus points takes some time to show up? I hold the Chase Aeroplan card which supposedly gives you 10% bonus on UR transfers above 50k to Aeroplan and that would be a nice stack if it works but I am not going to transfer more until I see the bonus or somebody else reports it.

  • “ Bonus Aeroplan offer is valid for Chase Ultimate Rewards® point transfers to Aeroplan® completed between 12:00AM ET on November 1, 2022 and 11:59PM ET on November 30, 2022.”

    Starts Nov 1

    • Good catch it looks Chase posted the offer early on their website. I’ll wait until 11/1 to try again.
